Cocoa farmers in southeast Cameroon are adapting to EU regulations, but they still want a fair price
From next year, every bar of chocolate sold in the EU must come from cocoa traceable to a mapped, deforestation-free plot. The work of proving it falls on smallholders in Cameroon, who are paid less than half the 2023 price.
